The government barn is apparently so light on for hay that it’s ripping fodder out of the schools and hospitals which it is nominally responsible for. You’d think under the circumstances it would be reasonable to tell a private venture like a woodchip mill to find itself a private paddock rather than pitchforking precious taxpayers’ hay to the forestry industry until the cows come home.

Taking our lumps
The main trouble with foreign investment is that all the investment is foreign. Or something along those lines. Anyway it seems that China is buying all our sugar for their own nefarious ends. Or they might just think there’s a quid in it, what with all of us massive Westerners guzzling the stuff all day long. Now I’m not a climate economics broker scientist, so long as there’s a sachet of sugar on the cafe table to sprinkle into my latte I’m probably okay with it.
Who’s who of Sydney traffic
In this post-privacy world where nobody knows you’re really quite a nice person when you’re not on the internet, there’s a bit of a stink in Sydney about police being able to order removal of any face coverings, including veils, helmets and hoodies to establish if you are who you say you are.
Now this doesn’t seem to be an entirely unreasonable, but mix Sydney traffic with a sensitive issue like religion (or pretty much anything come to think of it) and there’s bound to be some angst involved.
Ships in the night
As an island continent, pretty much every single problem besetting our once-great nation can be sheeted home to seagoing transport (well that’s where the trouble started anyway).
Coal, cows, human beings seeking succour from political oppression, they’re all the same if they’re in a bloody boat and as such I demand an immediate moratorium on all boats in all directions until it can be sorted out, starting with the immediate removal of that “girt by sea” line in the national anthem which is just asking for trouble.
What, the curtains?
Bob and Barnaby on the same page. Apocalypse anyone?
