As marriage is regulated by the C’wealth through The Marriage Act, State governments are either foolish, stupid or uneducated to pretend the State has any say or control over same or opposite sex marriage. Just a stunt. When Tassie or another state votes on a same sex law, it’s meanignless. Any majority vote decision has no legal standing. Hence a High Court challenge would quash any pretence of the Sates.
