Lest we forget

The Australian 9 March 2012

War, what is it good for? Indeed, large groups of people murdering each other in an organised fashion does seem a strange thing to be doing when they could (for example) sit down and have a lovely meal together instead, for considerably less expense in both cash and and carnage, unless you count corkage and indigestion.

So, yeah, I’ve got nothing. However, war is still extremely popular, and somebody’s got to do it and good on them, I’m certainly not putting up my hand to get shot at.

However, much like playing the banjo, there is a time and a place for acting in an uncivilised manner, and that is hopefully never, but otherwise war. At all other times it is extremely important that everyone does their best to keep themselves nice. That’s the whole point.
