There are two things all politicians can surely agree on as far as Australia’s dealing with boat people is concerned. Firstly, it’s probably time to stop using the word “solution” in relation to any extant options and secondly, the primary motivation is the welfare of the boat people concerned and absolutely nothing to do with politics, which must be a comfort to them.
